About Suneel Raghavendra

Suneel Raghavendra is a mechanical engineer turned filmmaker. His earliest memories of films include watching Nodi Swamy Navirodu Hige (1983) a few hundred times. Directed by and starring Shankar Nag, this film fuelled his love for filmmaking & films, especially Kannada films. After graduating as an engineer, Suneel obtained a Diploma in Filmmaking (Writing and Direction) at the Prague Film School in Prague, Czech Republic.

It took a while for Suneel to get into feature films after returning from Prague, However, the wait was worth it. He began as an apprentice in the direction department under the award-winning actor and filmmaker Prakash Raj’s directorial debut Naanu Nanna Kanasu (2010). Next, he was an Assistant Director under B Suresha’s Puttakkana Highway (2011), a film that won the National Award for the Best Regional Film. With this experience was born Talents’ Day Films. Suneel dabbled in a few short films, before producing and directing his first Kannada feature film, Puta Tirugisi Nodi (2016).
